All food, bedding and equipment are provided so practically all you need to bring is your pet! We will need proof of vaccination (for rabbits) but will ask you to send through a copy prior to your rabbit staying with us.
We provide Oxbow pellets but if your pet has a different kind of pellet/ grain mix we ask that you bring this along.
If your pet is on any medication we will also need this along with instructions, doses etc.
In the unlikely case that your pet needs medical attention we will notify you immediately and seek appropriate vet attention with your permission. All guests are monitored closely so the first sign of illness or anything out or the norm will be dealt with immediately.
This is concerning for many rabbit owners and ourselves whether it be at home or in boarding. We do everything we can to minimize these risks. We board fully vaccinated rabbits only, thoroughly disinfect everything before the next guest uses it, have screens on all of our doors and windows, use fly and insect spray dispensers at the entry ways and monitor all guests closely. Everyone staying with us is separate (not in pens right next to each other) and they do not come in contact with each other at any point.
We will need to be able to contact either yourself or a second person of contact at all times. This can be a family member, friend, work colleague etc but please make sure they are aware that they are a secondary contact and decisions may fall on them if you cannot be reached. This is only in the case of an emergency.
Yes, absolutely! Being a veterinary nurse ensures your pet will be medicated properly as long as dosages and instructions are provided. Please let us know if your pet needs medicating at the time of booking as fees may apply.
If you let us know any specific requirements your pet has we can ensure he/ she receives the care needed. Please let us know what these requirements may be at the time of booking so we can ensure we have the appropriate set up, diet etc before coming to stay.
Special requirements may include smaller pens, extra warmth or low litter trays for elderly guests, dietary needs (intolerance, dislikes etc) or just something in particular your pet really enjoys. We want to make this feel like a home away from home for them.
Yes, we can regularly brush your rabbit/ guinea pig. We are not groomers therefore we don't offer a grooming service, clipping of knots etc. If your pet is matted we ask that he/ she is groomed prior to staying with us to prevent further matting of the coat. We will do a complimentary nail clip before your pet goes home.
You are most welcome to bring along a favourite toy, bed, blanket etc for your pet, however we ask that you do not bring your pets cage along as the ones we use here have been thoroughly cleaned. This is to help maintain a clean environment for your pet and others.
Absolutely! Please contact us to arrange a day and time.
We like to feed a variety of fresh veggies and fruit as treats. We will check with you what your pet is use to eating as sudden changes can upset their tummy.
We feed a variety including spinach, silverbeet, celery, Asian greens, endive, kale, cucumber, carrots and tops, capsicum, banana, strawberries, rockmelon, watermelon and apple.
Please note that this is all in moderation and will vary depending on what is in season at the time of your pets stay.
Unfortunately we do not allow outside play for two main reasons. The first being the risk of contracting a virus (mosquitoes, flies, possible wild rabbits passing through) and the second being a safety issue. We do not have enclosed pens for outdoors and being a little further out there is always a risk of hawks, cats, foxes etc so we keep all of our guests indoors.
We ask at the time of booking to pay a 25% deposit to secure your spot. If you no longer need boarding for your pet and give as at least 7 days notice this fee will be refunded. If you cancel in 7 days or less the deposit will be held (particularly at busy times of the year) as we potentially may have turned down other guests and not be able to fill that spot.
